de cero ( loosely translates to “from scratch”)
Finally upscale Mexican on Randolph Street!
de cero is a modern day taqueria offering fresh Mexican cuisine
in the heart of the west loop. It is conveniently located at
814 W. Randolph Street, just 1 block west of 90/94 expressway
on the north side of the street, 1 door east of Redlight.
de cero was created by the co-owners of sushi wabi, Angela
M. Hepler and Susan Traina Thompson. They describe de cero
as the first of its kind in Chicago by providing fresh Mexican
cuisine in a modern Mexican atmosphere.
Jill Barron is the chef of de cero. She combines the indigenous
flavors of Mexico with the freshest ingredients to create a
menu focused on innovative recipes and simple, elegant presentation.
She describes her style of cuisine as fresh coastal Mexican
food.
de cero’s specialty drink menu is incredible! It offers
a variety of fresh fruit and herb combinations. The house favorites
are the Peach Chamomile Colada and the Raspberry Basil Daiquiri.
A small yet carefully chosen tequila list will be highlighted.
There is a smoking lounge in the bar area. Additionally, customers
may reserve the private party room for special occasion and
margarita parties.
Amelia Briske designed de cero. Her design goal was to bring
out the charm of Mexico with an urban edge for modern American
taste. The natural rustic elements coupled with industrial
materials set de cero’s design apart from any other Mexican
Restaurant.
No clutter, just simple modern Mexican charm! |
